Easter Lilies & Cats
Easter Lilies can be a beautiful decoration in the spring season, but did you know that all parts of the lily plant are considered toxic and dangerous to your cat? If ingested, it can cause severe kidney damage and even death. Please be advised that cat owners should remove lilies out of reach of your cat and consider an alternative to the lily such as Easter Orchids and Easter Daisies.

Team Member of the Month
This is Crystal, she is the Team Member of the Month at Pets First Veterinary Center. She has been working at Pets First as a technician for 12 years. Crystal has three pets, Maddie (Chocolate Lab), Nay Nay (Italian Greyhound), and Diggler (Siamese Mix). Crystals duties include assisting the doctors with surgeries and in appointments. She also runs lab work, does radiographs, inserts catheters, intubates animals for surgery and many other things. She is a great team player and an asset to our practice.
Did you know that dogs and cats are like humans when it comes to allergies? Is your pet miserable from constantly scratching and itching? These symptoms may have nothing to do with fleas or ticks. Believe it or not, your pet may have a skin condition or allergy. At Pets First Veterinary Center, we offer dermatology services for your pet. If your pet displays unusual lumps, bumps, or red skin, itchy or watery eyes, inform one of our staff members and we’ll schedule your pet for a dermatology appointment.

We provide comprehensive pain management to our patients…including those who suffer from chronic pain, acute injury and those recovering from surgical procedures. It’s our philosophy that preventing pain is much easier than overcoming it…and we’ll tailor a pain management program specific to your pet’s needs to ensure their comfort. We’d like to remind you that over the counter medications like Tylenol, Advil and Aleve are not safe for your pet. If your pet has ingested any of these over the counter pain medications, please bring them to us immediately.
